Housekeeping And Catering Assistant

Housekeeping:

• To clean residents’ rooms, common areas and all surrounding areas to the high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
• To assist with laundry and linen management
• Have a clear understanding of the basic principles of cross infection
• At all times show dignity and understanding to residents and their families

Catering

• To ensure food and beverages are prepared to the standard directed by the Head Chef and in line with the HACCP system in place
• Be aware of HSE and HIQA standards regarding catering activities in the Residential Home Setting
• Take full responsibility for allocated sections in the kitchen
• Be aware of the kitchen environment and use initiative in addressing any issues that arise, particularly those relating to hygiene and health and safety.
• Understand resident’s needs and requirements.
• Prepare meals and drinks as directed by the Head Chef at all times taking note of special meal requirements.
• Help in the serving of meals and drinks when appropriate
