Housekeeping Assistant
Overview of role:
UPMC are hiring a Housekeeping Operative to join our team in UPMC Kildare on a 6-month fixed term 30hr contract. To ensure all waste, both domestic and clinical, is removed, processed and stored using the standard agreed under the waste management policy. Cleaning must be carried out to hospital infection and prevention standards at all times. To ensure all surfaces and equipment are cleaned to the standard agreed in the hospital. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To remove waste from the area to be cleaned to the designated collection area and reline waste bin.
- To remove linen, and scrubs as appropriate from the area to be cleaned to the designated collection area.
- Wash walls/ledges/ doors/windows & ledges/sanitary ware, furniture, fixtures & fittings/phones and equipment as per specification.
- Dust control/vacuum and/or mop floors and stairs as per specification.
- Restock disposables and consumables as required.
- Ensure all checklists are signed off as required and returned to the manager/supervisor.
- Keep clinical bin stores in clean and well-maintained condition.
- Greet and engage with patients.
Health and Safety:
- To uphold UPMC Kildare Hospital’s policy requirements in relation to Fire, Infection Control and Health and Safety at
- Work regulations and to attend updates.
- Identify potential risks for all staff, patients and visitors and adhere to relevant incident reporting procedures.
- To observe a general duty of care for the health, safety and well-being of self, work colleagues, visitors and patients within the hospital, in addition to any specific risk management associated with this post.
Qualifications & Experience:
Eligible Criteria:
- Previous Housekeeping experience in Healthcare desirable.
- Must have good interpersonal skills.
- The provision of customer service is paramount and customer care is a key element of the role.
- High level attention to detail, efficiency and accuracy in all duties.
Salary: €30,805.00 - €39,183.96 per annum based on a 39 hour work week
