Location: Housing Support Team – Older People South - covering the Southern Trust Area
Salary: £24,479 per annum (Scale point 21 - £13.48 per hour)
Contract: Permanent
Work hours: 35 hours per week – Monday - Friday

BCM is actively recruiting for a Housing Support Worker to help those over the age of 55 to remain living independent at home. This role has a focus on supporting individuals with their housing and social care needs. Housing experience is not essential as full training will be provided on the job.

This role will involve visiting service users in their own homes, with a caseload in Armagh/Dungannon/Wider Craigavon areas. You will have the support of your experienced colleagues and Manager to learn all aspects of the job. Please note this role does not involve personal care.

Your new role 
You will work independently with a caseload of service users, building a relationship of trust and respect to achieve the best outcomes for your service users. You will provide them with the best advice and support to help them remain living independently in their own home.
You will regularly meet your service users face to face either at their own home or a neutral venue to provide this support. You will act as an advocate for the service user and link with external agencies to get the right help and support they need.

What we need from you
  • At least one years’ experience of supporting people in the community. Experience working with older people is desirable
  • GCSE English or equivalent
  • Possess a full driving licence. Business insurance and access to a car are required as you may have to transport Service Users.
