HR Administrator

The OpportunityWorking as part of the People & Culture team, you will provide efficient and professional administrative support across the full range of HR activities.
You will be a key point of contact for colleagues and managers, helping to ensure our HR processes run smoothly, our records are accurate and our colleagues receive a positive and professional experience from joining The Johnstown Estate onwards.
What You'll DoHR Administration
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the People & Culture team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR files.
- Prepare HR documentation, letters, contracts and other correspondence.
- Support the administration of employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, changes to employment and leavers.
- Ensure HR documentation is completed accurately and in line with company policies and legislation.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information appropriately.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Support the recruitment process from vacancy through to onboarding.
- Coordinate interviews and communicate with candidates and hiring managers.
- Prepare new starter documentation and ensure all pre-employment requirements are completed.
- Support induction and onboarding activities to ensure new colleagues receive a warm and organised welcome.
- Help maintain accurate recruitment records and HR systems.
HR Systems & Data
- Maintain accurate colleague information across HR systems and platforms.
- Support the People & Culture team with HR reporting and data preparation.
- Assist with the administration of systems such as Alkimii, MAPAL and learning management platforms.
- Ensure employee data is handled accurately, securely and confidentially.
Learning & Development
- Assist with the coordination and administration of training programmes.
- Maintain training records and support compliance with mandatory training requirements.
- Help coordinate colleague development initiatives and learning activities.
Colleague Engagement
- Support colleague engagement activities, events and initiatives throughout the estate.
- Assist with recognition programmes and People & Culture communications.
- Contribute to creating a positive and welcoming colleague experience.
Payroll & Compliance Support
- Assist with the preparation and checking of payroll information.
- Work closely with Finance and the People & Culture team to ensure colleague information is accurate and up to date.
- Support the administration of annual leave, absence and other employee records.
- Ensure HR administration is carried out in accordance with Irish employment legislation and company policies.
We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and genuinely interested in people.
You may already have experience in an HR administration role, or you may be looking for the next step in your HR career. Most importantly, you'll bring a positive attitude, strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Essential- Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within HR, hospitality or another fast-paced service environment.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- A proactive, helpful and team-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a busy operational environment.
- Previous HR administration experience.
- HR qualification or relevant third-level education.
- Experience using HR systems or workforce management platforms.
- Knowledge or understanding of Irish employment legislation.
- Hospitality or hotel experience.
- Organised – able to manage multiple priorities and keep things moving.
- Detail-focused – you take pride in getting the small things right.
- Approachable – colleagues feel comfortable coming to you for support.
- Discreet – you understand the importance of confidentiality and trust.
