Whilst the Council are recruiting for a permanent HR Business Partner, please note that a reserve list will be compiled for future permanent, temporary, full time and part time posts for HR Business Partner positions at Council Offices in both Downpatrick and Newry.

Main Purpose of Post / Job: To provide a confidential, effective employee relations and business partner resource to (an) assigned department(s)/directorate(s) and location(s) across a range of people management and employee relations issues, including recruitment; discipline and grievance; attendance management; dignity at work and capability.To contribute as an integral member of the HR department to the provision of a modern, professional high quality and responsive HR service to support the corporate and business plans of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
Duration of appointment: Permanent
Salary: PO1, SCP 29-32, currently £37,336 - £40,221 per annum based on a 36 hour week (pro rata to hours worked). It is Council policy to appoint at minimum salary scale point.
Hours of work: 36 hours per week. The post holder must be prepared to work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends and Public and extra Statutory Holidays for which the appropriate payment will be made or time in lieu granted if relevant.
Work Pattern: Flexi 36 hours Monday - Friday. This post is eligible to participate in the Flexi Scheme.
Location and transferability: Council Offices in Newry or Downpatrick. The post holder may be required to transfer to other locations in accordance with any requirements stated in the Job Description, any reviews of service delivery or other requirments as may arise from time to time. Any amendments made to work location will be implemented following appropriate consultation and provision of reasonable notice.
