Overview

Support the HSE Manager in the delivery of on-site health, safety and environmental procedures in line with Group Policies and Management Standards framework.

Ensure risk assessments and safe work procedures are maintained enabling the effective delivery of operational training ensuring employees are capable of completing their role safely.

About the Role

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to support HSE compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Drive safety improvements through audit actions, incident trend analysis, and non-conformance management.
  • Support operational teams in implementing and monitoring Group HSE standards and risk controls.
  • Deliver HSE training and promote safe working practices across the business.
  • Facilitate risk assessments to identify hazards and implement effective control measures.
  • Promote behavioural safety by supporting colleagues to identify and address unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Lead site safety walks and engagement activities to strengthen safety culture.
  • Support accident investigations and ensure lessons learned are effectively communicated.
  • Assist in the development and testing of emergency response plans.
  • Coordinate health surveillance programmes and follow-up actions.
  • Support contractor management, including permit-to-work requirements.
  • Promote environmental best practices, including waste management, pollution prevention, recycling, and sustainability initiatives.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings a strong blend of HSE expertise, stakeholder engagement, and a proactive approach to driving positive change. You'll ideally have:

  • Experience implementing and maintaining HSE Management Systems
  • Proven ability to deliver change through strong stakeholder engagement and relationship building
  • Technical HSE qualification (e.g. NEBOSH, OTHM or equivalent)
  • Affiliate membership of a recognised professional body, such as IOSH
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • A collaborative approach with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to supporting operational teams
  • Highly motivated, self-driven and able to work independently
  • A positive team player with a proactive and solution-focused attitude
