The Role

We’re looking for a proactive and driven Health, Safety & Environment Officer to join our team and help shape the safety culture of our site. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment – supporting continuous improvement and compliance across our health, safety, and environmental systems.Working closely with the HSE Manager, you’ll play a vital role in upholding legislative and internal standards, and fostering a culture of awareness, prevention, and accountability.

Your Key Responsibilities

As HSE Officer, you will:

  • Support the HSE Manager in implementing effective communication channels and clear reporting procedures
  • Contribute to the development and review of risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Assist with the coordination and maintenance of safety and environmental data and reporting
  • Ensure effective implementation of company standards and legal updates across departments
  • Recommend relevant training initiatives to raise awareness of HSE best practice and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate training records for all personnel in line with legal and company obligations
  • Complete safety audits and workplace inspections, identifying and resolving any areas of concern
  • Provide clear, consistent documentation and statistical reporting to senior management
  • Play a hands-on role in driving improvements and embedding a safety-first culture across the site

The Ideal Candidate

You’ll be passionate about promoting a safe working environment, with an eye for detail and a proactive, collaborative approach.You’ll bring:

  • A third-level qualification in Health, Safety and Environment (or related subject)
  • A good working knowledge of HSE regulations within the food industry (desirable)
  • At least one year’s experience in a HSE-focused role in a fast-paced environment
  • A NEBOSH Certificate (or willingness to study towards one)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database systems)
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across teams
  • A solutions-focused mindset and drive for continuous improvement
