Overview

This role involves working closely with key stakeholders to identify and close out actions that improve safety and legal compliance, while providing day‑to‑day management and support to the Senior HSE Advisor in delivering on‑site health, safety and environmental procedures aligned to Group policies and standards. As a key member of the Site Management Team, it provides competent HSE guidance, communicates the Group’s strategic direction, analyses trends and drives actions to raise standards. The role also acts as an ambassador for a culture of trust, learning and accountability through targeted campaigns and initiatives, while supporting and delivering HSE training to enable the effective rollout of the HSE Capability Improvement Programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong cross‑functional relationships to provide expert HSE guidance and support
  • Maintain up‑to‑date HSE legal knowledge and IOSH CPD, ensuring full compliance
  • Drive site HSE improvements through audits, incident trends and action plans
  • Support Site Management in implementing Group Standards and Risk Control Procedures
  • Deliver clear HSE updates at management reviews and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Facilitate internal and external audits, accident investigations and senior management reviews
  • Deliver HSE training, risk assessments and behavioural safety coaching across the site
  • Promote a positive safety culture through site walks, engagement forums and coaching
  • Ensure accurate incident reporting, emergency preparedness and health surveillance
  • Support environmental compliance including waste, pollution control and sustainability initiatives

About You

  • Proven record for delivering performance improvements.
  • Experience in implementing HSE Management systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of delivering presentations and group training sessions
  • Experience delivering change management through strong stakeholder relationships
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001 management processes, principles and methodologies
  • Graduate level qualifications in an HSE discipline e.g. NEBOSH, OTHM
  • Certified Membership with a Professional body e.g. The Institute of Occupational Safety & Health
  • Training qualification
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively
  • Highly motivated
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills with a coaching style
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to work as a team
