The newly established HSE Mid West Health Region will manage and deliver all public health and social care services for Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary serving a population of over 413,059 people. The redesign of services will allow new pathways to develop between acute hospitals, community services, primary care, health & wellbeing and voluntary sectors to develop more integrated, patient-centred care. HSE Mid-West includes all hospital, community healthcare and public health services in the region.

The HSE Mid West Speech & Language Therapy team in Clare is a busy and dynamic team including Primary Care Adult and Paediatric services, Child & Adolescent Mental Health service, Older Person services including Integrated Care Programme for Older Persons, Inpatient Rehabilitation & Residential Community Nursing Unit services. The Speech & Language Clinical Specialist will be part of the Clare Speech & Language Therapy team, the Regional SLT FEES team and the multidisciplinary Rehabilitation & Primary care team in Ennis, Co. Clare. This will include participation in team meetings, continuous professional development and professional supervision.

The SLT FEES team were recognised for their innovation in setting up the first Community SLT led FEES service in Ireland at the HSE Excellence Awards in 2022.
