Hybrid Cloud Engineer
Sysco are recruiting for a Hybrid Cloud Engineer to join the Europe Infrastructure Team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Infrastructure Operations Team Lead, this is a hybrid role based within the UK (London or Ashford) or Ireland (Dublin or Limerick) with occasional European travel required.
Working at a senior technical level, you will be responsible for supporting technical infrastructure solutions across both on-premise and public cloud environments for Sysco Europe. This role is focused on delivering premium support services to internal customers and enabling business success.
You will be part of a large, multinational environment, collaborating with global infrastructure teams and engaging with internal clients and third-party vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ITSM queues, ensuring infrastructure incidents and problems are resolved within SLA and to end-user satisfaction
- Work across multiple infrastructure technologies including compute, storage, cloud, and remote desktop
- Follow change management processes to document, implement, and verify changes
- Proactively diagnose and resolve system issues, including vulnerability remediation
- Document and transfer knowledge to peers and end users
- Own and resolve reported issues through to successful completion
- Escalate unresolved issues to internal teams or vendors, ensuring timely resolution
- Participate in projects for new acquisitions, updated solutions, and architecture reviews
- Support monitoring solutions and prepare accurate, timely reports
- Build and maintain strong relationships across global regions (EMEA, NA, LATAM, APAC)
- Contribute to the globalisation of Sysco’s infrastructure services
- Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours support
- Mentor, coach, and act as a point of escalation for team members

You are a technically strong, self-motivated infrastructure professional who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You have deep experience in enterprise support, cloud platforms, and IT operations, with a proactive approach to problem solving and a passion for delivering quality service.
Skills and Experience
Key Skills & Abilities:
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication

- Familiarity with ITIL processes preferred
Technical Experience:
- Cloud: Azure / AWS
- Virtualisation: Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V
- Storage: Dell Compellent/PowerStore/PowerScale, HPE Nimble
- Server Hardware: Dell/HP
- Windows Server (inc. AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, Certificate Services)
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Office 365 (Licensing, Migration, Patching, Hybrid setups)
- Backup products/strategies
- Network infrastructure understanding
- High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity strategies
- Relevant industry certifications
