Hygiene Supervisor

Key Responsibilities: -

To ensure the site is cleaned in a safe and efficient manner.
To ensure the members of the hygiene department work as part of a team.

Duties

Staff:
Organize hygiene staff to ensure production needs are met
Ensure Return to Work forms are completed at start of shift for staff that have returned from holidays or sickness
Ensure an attendance count is completed at the start of each shift
Ensure all staff are equipped with the correct P.P.E. before commencing work.
Ensure all staff are working in a safe manner (health & safety and food safety) as per documented procedures.
Ensure all staff receive their agreed breaks.
Supply holiday request forms to staff wishing to book holidays.
Report to Hygiene Manager any concerns raised by staff.
Ensure chemicals are used in a safe manner.

Change-over cleans:
Liaise with production with regards to scheduling / changeovers.
Ensure changeovers are completed within the documented time frame.
Ensure that all changeovers are completed in a safe manner as per procedure following Health and Safety and Food Safety guidelines.
Ensure there is no risk of contamination to other equipment/ product when carrying out a changeover clean.
Ensure all changeovers are inspected after cleaning before handing back to production and signed off on relevant paperwork.
Ensure the correct procedure is followed when completing an allergen clean down.


Washrooms:
Ensure safe use of IWM Washer
Ensure mandatory PPE is worn.
Ensure food contact items do not touch the floor.
Liaise with production over sequence of cleaning.
Ensure safe use of Bowl Tipper, ensure the cleaning process of mixing bowls is only completed with the use of the Bowl Tipper.
Ensure all electrical control panels are covered on all equipment going into the washrooms.
Ensure steps/ platform is used when cleaning of high-level equipment.
Ensure all shadow board equipment is returned to shadow board clean.
Ensure drains are cleaned regularly throughout shift.
Report any damage to maintenance and hygiene manager.


Essential Criteria

Skills and Knowledge
  • 1 year experience managing Hygiene Team
  • 1 year Hygiene experience in Food Manufacturing industry


Qualifications/Education
  • Food Safety L2
  • Chemical Handling Awareness Training

Circumstances
  • Flexible, ability to work various shifts as required
  • Ability to communicate in English
