WHAT IS IN-VEST 2?

IN-VEST 2 is a FREE J.P. Morgan-supported accredited pre-apprenticeship programme for people interested in exploring new apprenticeships in the IT and services sectors while developing IT skills and soft skills that are transferrable to any career.

The course will be delivered in a creative, project-based format with learners engaging in group work and developing individual portfolios. Career guidance from BJC staff will be integrated throughout the course with learners linking in regularly with their guidance officers who will provide support and assistance with developing goals identified throughout the training.

WHAT WILL I GET OUT OF THE IN-VEST 2 PROGRAMME? 

  • ICDL Accreditation in Word and Online Essentials
  • QQI Level 5 in Communications
  • 4 weeks of work experience
  • Updated CV and improved job seeking and interviewing skills
  • Portfolio of completed projects
  • Networking opportunities
  • Improved soft skills and IT skills and greater awareness of apprenticeship opportunities
  • Ongoing career guidance and progression support from BJC staff

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS?

Applicants must:

  • Have a junior certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Be over 18 years of age
  • Be able to pass a basic English literacy assessment

Do I have to be in receipt of social welfare payment to avail of this programme?

No, you don't need to be in receipt of a social welfare payment to do the programme.

However, if a person is in receipt of a social welfare payment they may qualify for a training allowance.

Do all participants qualify for a training payment? 

Unfortunately, you must be on social welfare payment to qualify for a training allowance.

However, if you are not receiving a social welfare payment you can still do the programme, gain relevant IT skills, communication skills and avail of all the excellent networking opportunities.

If participants are not being paid or are not on a social welfare payment is there any assistance for travel etc?

Yes, there is assistance with travel expenses and we will cover any travel expenses incurred while on work experience.

Course hours: Mon - Fri, 9.00 am - 1.00 pm in the Finglas Training Centre.
