Our Kepak Cork site is based in Watergrasshill, Co. Cork — just 35 minutes from Cork City and 20 minutes from Fermoy — offering a strong, supportive workplace in a well‑established facility.

Positions Available:

  • We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our team at Kepak Cork as an Industrial Hygiene & Facilities Operative. As part of our multi-cultural and diverse workforce, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety within our Retail production environment.
  • This is an essential operational role supporting the smooth and safe running of our facility. You will be responsible for keeping production and the surrounding areas clean, organised, and compliant with food safety and health & safety standards.

Please note: The factory is situated in a location with limited access to public transport, so reliable private transport is recommended.

Working hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm

What to expect in the job?This position involves working as part of a busy operations team in a chilled food production environment. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety across the Retail production area.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out industrial cleaning duties across production areas, including floors, walls, doors, and work zones
  • Cleaning production equipment and machinery parts (such as sealing heads) and completing clean-downs between product changeovers
  • Responding promptly to and cleaning up spillages to maintain a safe working environment
  • Removing general waste and cardboard from internal and external areas
  • Operating waste-handling equipment such as a cardboard baler and general waste compactor (full training provided)
  • Using a ride-on floor scrubber machine to maintain factory floor cleanliness
  • Performing pre-start hygiene and safety checks as required
  • Reporting any equipment damage, faults, breakages, or safety concerns to the Line Supervisor
  • Following all health & safety and food hygiene procedures at all times
  • Supporting additional duties as directed by your Supervisor, in line with operational needs

This role involves being on your feet for much of the shift and working in a temperature-controlled (chilled) environment.

Requirements

What we need from you?

  • Previous experience in industrial cleaning, hygiene, facilities, or manufacturing environments is highly beneficial
  • Experience working in a factory, food production, or other regulated environment is an advantage
  • Ability to carry out physical duties, including being on your feet for extended periods
  • A strong awareness of health & safety practices and the importance of workplace hygiene
  • Reliable, responsible, and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
  • Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and use your own initiative when required
  • A positive attitude with willingness to learn and support additional tasks as needed
  • A safety-conscious mindset with a commitment to following all safety guidelines
  • Effective communication skills
  • Willingness to complete all required training
