POST OF PERMANENT FULL -TIME INSTRUCTOR/SUPERVISOR

The Role:

The successful candidate will be involved in the implementation of a person-centred individualised programme for adults with an intellectual disability in line with the New Directions standards, initially based in Sovereign Centre in Loughrea. The successful candidate will have responsibility to fill a key worker role for the people supported by the services.

Qualifications/Experience

Candidates require a level 7 qualification relevant to the health sector.

Candidates must have a minimum of 1 years’ experience working in ID Services. It is an advantage to have had experience working in day services, designing and implementing programmes to enable them to carry out successfully the duties of the post together with an appreciation of the needs of persons with an intellectual disability. Experience in establishing links with the community and micro enterprises is also an advantage.

A full clean manual Irish Driver’s Licence is essential.

Fluency in verbal and written English is an essential requirement of this post.

Working Hours:

78 hours a fortnight based on a 5-day week duty roster. The normal working hours will be Monday – Friday but may involve weekend work if required to meet the needs of the people we support or Personal Outcomes. Contracted hours of work are liable to change from 8am to 8pm over 7 days to meet the requirements of the programme. The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.

Annual Leave:

22 days per annum.

Remuneration:

Department of Health Consolidated Salary scale August 1st 2025 €35,432x 12 increments - €51,373 per annum.

Tenure:

This position is Permanent, full-time and pensionable.

Probation:

A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post. The

Employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment. The probation period may be extended at the Employer’s discretion.
