Interim Director of Fundraising and Communications

The overall high-level purpose of the job is to:
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Interim Director of Fundraising and Communications to lead our development efforts during a critical transition period. This role will provide leadership, continuity, and strategic oversight of fundraising and communications initiatives while we conduct a search for a permanent Director of Fundraising and Communications. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on development professional with the ability to maintain donor relationships, manage ongoing fundraising and communications / marketing activities, and support a smooth handover to the permanent hire.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications:
· Hold a professional relevant degree level qualification in Business or related discipline
Experience:
· A minimum of 3 year’s managerial/leadership experience within the last 5 years.
· Substantial fundraising and marketing experience.
· Experience of strategic plan development and implementation.
· In depth knowledge of the various fundraising /communications disciplines including knowledge of communication tools and media/press relations.
· In depth knowledge of related fields (branding and public relations).
· Excellent knowledge of financial planning and budgetary procedures.
· Strong knowledge of fundraising management information systems.
· In depth knowledge of the voluntary and charity sector.
Desirable Requirements
Experience:
· Background in major gift donor recruitment.
