IT Operations Specialist

The purpose of this post is to provide high quality IT assistance and deskside support to Saint John of God Hospital IT users. This role is 35 hours per week and requires the successful candidate to cover onsite IT support. This position is located at Saint John of God Hospital, Stillorgan and is an onsite IT support role to the staff in the hospital. Due to the nature and purpose of the role there is no option for working remotely at this time.

Essential Competencies

· Minimum 3 years' experience in IT Support or Cyber Security roles.

· Provide 1st and 2nd line support to all IT users to ensure reported problems are resolved as effectively and efficiently as possible.

· Day to Day management of system and application software.

· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, and related technologies including Intune, Conditional Access, and Entra ID.

· Network hardware management including Switches, Firewalls, and Wireless Networks

· Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and frameworks (ISO27001, NIST, OWASP).

· Exposure to patching and vulnerability management tools is advantageous.

· Troubleshoot system software issues with hospital staff and security officers. Liaise with external support companies as necessary.

· Troubleshoot hardware issues with Desktop PCs, Laptops, Tablets, and Local and MFP Printers.

Desirable Competencies

· Experience of working in a healthcare environment.

· Experience with security technologies such as SIEM and IDS/IPS and familiarity with cybersecurity standards and frameworks (ISO27001, NIST, OWASP).

· Experience of monitoring and investigate threats with internal security teams and external SOC.

· Experience of patch and vulnerability management processes to maintain security posture.

· Disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP)

· Procurement and asset management of IT equipment.
