Job Description & Summary

In our PwC Business Enablement Solutions department, the Tech Central team provides support to the Tax, Assurance, BES and Advisory practices in advising on and in implementing the correct technology solutions, developing technical solutions and helping them to design and execute the correct technology strategy. This makes for a dynamic working environment where no two projects are the same. 

Responsible for:

  • Understanding the business issues our clients face. 

  • Identifying the appropriate technological solutions. 

  • Designing, developing and implementing those solutions. 

  • Liaising with the firm's IT department. 

  • Project coordination 


Scope/Overall Summary of Role:
Working as an Associate in the Tech Central team’s Ecosystem team, playing a critical role in supporting and advancing the organisation's digital and data transformation ecosystem.

This role is responsible for managing and maintaining core data platform services — including the Workbench platform, which integrates key tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Tableau, Azure Data Factory, SQL services, Databricks, CaaS, and Generative AI services

Specific areas of responsibility:

  • Support and maintain the Workbench platform, ensuring the smooth operation of integrated tools. 

  • Act as a technical liaison between the Tech Central team management and business stakeholders, understanding requirements and translating them into effective digital solutions. 

  • Lead or contribute to the development of assets using Power Platform and other core tools, ensuring alignment with strategic business priorities. 

  • Demonstrate understanding and application of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) technologies and best practices. 

  • Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), agile frameworks, and development methodologies in project execution. 

  • Knowledge of Databricks, Python, SQL, and other data engineering tools to design, build, and maintain scalable data workflows and analytics solutions. 

  • Work closely with business analysts and cross-functional teams to ensure delivery of high-impact digital products. 

  • Provide technical guidance and quality assurance for platform-based developments to ensure sustainability and scalability. 

Education/Professional Qualifications:

  • 3rd level computer degree in ICT area.

  • Minimum 4 years experience operating at the support level. 

  • Project coordination experience. 

  • Knowledge of MS DevOps. 

  • Knowledge and experience of using a formal Project Management methodology (eg. Prince2, Six Sigma ) would be advantageous.

Technical Knowledge

 Relevant experience and skills include: 

  • Familiar with Robotic Process Automation tools like UiPath, Automation Anywhere or Blue Prism. 

  • Experience of data science tools like Alteryx or MS Power Query. 

  • Experience of data visualisation software such as Tableau, Power BI or Qlik. 

  • Good knowledge of Windows operating system and application software including Word, Excel and Visio. 

  • Understanding of data/database technologies, like Databricks, MS SQL, MySQL, MongoDB. 

  • Programming skills in Python, C++, Java, Visual Basic. 

  • Knowledge/understanding of Generative AI.
