Joint Hospital Recruitment, Palliative Medicine Registrar

Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services (OLH&CS) is overseeing the Joint Recruitment campaign for Palliative Medicine Registrar vacancies for July 2026 intake.

A provisional list of participating hospices and hospitals includes (this list is not exhaustive):

• Our Lady’s Hospice and Care Services Harold’s Cross
• Our Lady’s Hospice and Care Services Blackrock Hospice and Wicklow Hospice
• St. Brigid’s Hospice, The Curragh, Co Kildare
• St Francis Hospice, Raheny, Dublin
• St. James’s Hospital, Dublin
• Tallaght University Hospital (Two fulltime posts - Palliative and 0.6/0.4WTE Medical Oncology/Palliative)
• St Vincent’s University Hospital (6-month post)

Note:Some posts may be allocated by the Specialist Registrar Training Scheme or otherwise prior to the date of interview and may not be available.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential Qualification Criteria:

• Full registration in the General Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland
• Full driver’s license and access to your own car (if required by your post) – but please note that free on-site parking will not be available in all of the hospitals listed above.
• Excellent communication skills evidenced in written and oral formats

Desirable Experience Criteria:

• At least 3 years post qualification experience
• Previous experience in Palliative Medicine or an associated relevant speciality (e.g. Oncology, Haematology, Care of the Elderly, Neurology, Respiratory Medicine)

Each candidate will be requested to rank the available posts in order of preference on the day prior to their interview
