The role is with an Accountancy Practice based in either the Portlaoise and or Naas office:

This is an exciting Junior Accountant role at Accountancy Practice in Avid Partners for someone who may have a desire to broaden their accountancy skills and become Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant while engaged in Accountancy Practice.

The job is:

You will be in charge of a portfolio of clients while working alongside other colleagues within the firm.

You will have all the assistance and training you need, but this role definitely requires a go-getter personality with strong interpersonal skills and experience in contributing to areas of client service.

You will have a mix of service portfolio including auditing, financial reporting, management accounting and corporate/personal taxation – auditing will account for 25% of your assignments while the greater amount of time will be spent on management reporting and preparation of financial accounts and other reports including the presentation to client and related advisory services.

An experienced person with some experience in Accountancy Practice is required including accounts, client advisory services and a track record in dealing face to face with clients and other stakeholders.

The role involves joining a team of accountants in preparing financial reports for client companies on a routine basis. The support is required in the following areas:

- Maintaining financial records on Computerised Accounting software packages

- Producing VAT reports and ROS filing

- Reconciliation of control accounts

- Handling queries raised by clients

- Liaising & reporting to team members

Responsibilities and Duties

- Maintaining Computerised Accounting records and posting transaction to Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Bank Account

- Reconciliation of control accounts including Bank Reconciliations

- Liaising with The Revenue Commissioners

- Organising and Maintaining financial records for production of year end accounts

- Produce bi-monthly VAT 3 reports

- Reporting to team members

- Assisting in the preparation of year end accounts and working papers

- Liaising with clients on queries and follow-up matters

Qualifications and Skills

- Individual must have previous experience in an accountancy practice

- Individual must have strong experience in Computerised Accounting Package

- Individual must want to progress within the practice

- Individual must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word Benefits

Irish based accountancy practice: 1 year (required)
