Role Overview

Due to the continued success and growth of the Fit-Out Division across a range of sectors we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join the Estimating Team within H&J Martin Fit Out.

The successful candidate will be working with the Senior Estimator and playing a key role within the commercial team and be responsible for ensuring projects are priced and submitted meeting the key deliverables requested.

What you'll do

The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

• Carry out pre-Tender site visits throughout the UK and Ireland
• Where applicable prepare accurate Bills of Quantities from drawings, specifications and schedule of finishes
• Issue enquiries for work packages, sourcing, negotiating and obtaining the best prices and quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Attend meetings pre and post tender with clients and supply chain
• Work alongside the Senior Estimator and Quantity Surveying team to deliver the commercial strategy

What you’ll bring

Your main skills and experience will include:

Essential Criteria

• Construction experience within a Fit Out/ Construction company.
• Recently graduated or in the process of completing a degree qualification in a construction related subject or demonstrate past experiences of a similar role
• Have knowledge of construction practices that can be used on to analyse costs.
• Possess advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and Information Technology in general 
• Good commercial acumen to develop further opportunities 
• Experience in using estimating software such as conquest would be advantageous
• Travel though out the UK and Ireland as and when required
