To support the Head Chef in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, hygiene, and customer satisfaction are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
· Assist the Head Chef with kitchen operations.
· Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a high standard.
· Supervise and support Chef de Partie, Commis Chefs, and kitchen assistants.
· Ensure consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation.
· Help manage stock levels, ordering, and inventory control.
· Minimise food waste and contribute to cost-control measures.
· Maintain HACCP procedures and food safety standards.
· Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
· Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.
· Support menu development and daily specials.
· Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality standards.
Requirements
· Culinary qualification or relevant professional training.
· Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role.
· Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen operations.
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Good organisational and time-management skills.
· Leadership and team-working abilities.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· Passion for food quality and customer service.
