2 Year Fixed-Term Contract, Full-Time (35 hours per week)

The “Kaizen Lead will be a critical leadership figure responsible for championing and embedding a robust, people-focused culture of continuous improvement across the Central Remedial Clinic (CRC). This role is vital for enhancing service quality, operational efficiency, and staff empowerment, directly aligning all improvement efforts with the CRC's Strategic Plan and core values.

The ideal candidate is a highly accomplished Black Belt with extensive experience in process optimisation, strategic implementation, and training across diverse, service-based industries, specifically leveraging experience in healthcare and transactional environments.

Qualifications/Experience

Essential Requirements

  • Certification & Education: Hold a formal Black Belt certification at NFQ Level 9.
  • Leadership & Management: Minimum of 5 years experience leading a continuous improvement department, directing a multi-functional Lean program, or operating a dedicated CI consulting business.
  • Mentorship: Proven track record in managing, mentoring, and providing hands-on coaching to Lean practitioners (e.g., Green/Yellow Belts) and building team capability.
  • Sector-Specific Experience: Direct, demonstrable experience in implementing Lean in Healthcare or the disability/social care services sector (which aligns with the CRC's planned introduction of Lean Healthcare).
  • Project Delivery: Experience in delivering high-value financial and non-financial results from complex, multi-functional improvement projects, with a strong focus on execution and rapid implementation.
  • Methodology Mastery: Deep expertise in Lean methodology (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen events) and the Six Sigma DMAIC framework, and an ability to apply these in service-based sectors. Stakeholder Engagement: Exceptional ability to facilitate workshops, challenge outdated processes, and drive organisational change by gaining buy-in from staff at all levels.
  • Strategy & Reporting: Demonstrated ability to develop and present clear, strategic roadmaps and robust performance reports to senior stakeholders and Board level.
  • Academic/Training Role: Experience in an academic/teaching role focused on Lean, such as lecturing on a Master Black Belt or Green Belt programme or designing accredited Lean training programs.
  • Data Proficiency: Proven proficiency with advanced CI and data analysis tools (e.g., JMP, SQL) for robust measurement and insights generation.
