Kitchen Porters
NOTE: There is no live in hotel accommodation or places to rent in Ardmore at the moment, candidate needs to live locally or live within a public transport radius or have own transport
MAIN DUTIES:
Daily: Cleaning and sanitising all areas used for meal preparation, along with ovens, grills, sinks, and stoves.
Daily: Continually making sure that work surfaces, floors, and walls are clean and sanitised and ensuring food preparation sites are clean and ready.
Daily: Washing cutlery, utensils, and collecting and washing up pots and pans on rotation so the kitchen staff has constant access.
Daily: Ensuring the freezers / cold room / fridges and storeroom remain clean and organised.
Daily: Making sure work surfaces, floors and walls are always clean and sanitised after all shifts
Daily: Sweep and mop floors at the beginning and end of shifts
Daily: Be ready to clean up spills to avoid hindering operations
Daily: Maintain storage area for mops, brushes, detergents in a clean and tidy manner.
Daily: Unloading food and equipment deliveries & ensuring they are stored in the right areas.
Daily: Taking out the rubbish and keeping bins washed and cleaned after each service
To carry out cleaning duties outlined in the cleaning schedule and complete daily/weekly checklists for cleaning tasks performed.
Thorough deep cleaning as per cleaning schedule of kitchen/larder areas/back bar, equipment and storage areas and complete daily/weekly checklists for cleaning tasks performed.
Helping the chef if required with food preparation such as peeling, washing, and cutting meal ingredients.
To arrive for work dressed inappropriate clothes for the job and on time for work.
To adhere to hygiene regulations regarding uniform, personal hygiene and operational hygiene.
Wear protective clothing, i.e. safety shoes.
To be aware of any hazardous substances and ensure that appropriate protective clothing is worn and follow directions.
To report to Chef any broken equipment or items not considered safe. Report any defects in place, plant or procedure with might endanger safety.
To attend meetings/training courses as required
Take reasonable care of your safety and that of others affected by your action or omissions while at work.
Ensure not to misuse any appliance, equipment, PPE or other means provided for securing safety.
Report accidents and near misses.
SKILLS
Excellent organisational skills
HACCP Certification a benefit but training will be provided
The ability to work in a high-pressure environment while keeping your cool
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
The capacity to work as part of a team
