Lead Systems Engineer

Grade VI

St. Michael's House (SMH) is a leading organisation in the field of disability in Ireland and has a turnover of €100m; a staff complement of over 1,850 employees and delivers services to over 1,900 children and adults, their families, and carers in over 170 & networks locations across the greater Dublin area.

SMH has a research partnership with UCD and runs QQI accredited programmes of education up to and including Honours Degree Level through its Open Training College.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential Qualifications

  • A relevant third-level qualification in Information Technology or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A full, valid Irish driver’s licence is essential for this role.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Suitable technical qualifications (such as CCNA, relevant Microsoft certifications, VMware etc)

Essential Experience

  • 10+ years of IT support work experience, with expertise in server hardware / virtualisation, cloud platforms, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
  • Track record of managing projects and ICT staff, to ensure on time delivery of all work within agreed SLA’s
  • Proven track record in supporting and managing Microsoft 365.
  • NAS Configuration and Administration
  • Microsoft Server design, build and administration.
  • Network integrations with experience of managing DHCP and DNS in a large complex network
  • Client builds and support, with knowledge of Windows 10 / 11 and various Office releases.
  • Security Patching across all platforms
  • AV management, including endpoint and encryption management.
  • VMware vSphere experience.
  • Citrix XenApp administration, configuration, and support.
  • Ability to prepare informal and formal technical documentation and to keep accurate records and logs.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing ICT infrastructure strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and gather requirements from users at the business unit level
  • Experience managing relationships with IT vendors and ensuring service delivery.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

SALARY SCALE: Successful candidates will be paid in line with HSE Grade VI revised consolidated pay scales, i.e., € Point 1: €57,325 to Point 7: €70,034 per annum pro rata.

Should you have no prior public sector experience you will be placed on point 1 of the pay-scale above

HOURS OF WORK: 35 hours per week.
