The Role:
The Asset Management and Sustainability area is responsible for the development of asset policies, strategies and plans to determine the significant investment required into Ireland’s infrastructure. The area drives investment and the Sustainability and Innovation agenda for the organisation and leads on Environmental Regulation and Compliance activities, ensuring the quality of water and wastewater is continuously monitored. The Asset Management function is responsible for strategic planning, prioritisation, and development of Uisce Éireann’s Capital Works pipeline. The function plays a key role in promoting collaboration and co-ordination of activities across the three asset functions as well as providing environmental assessment and management expertise across Uisce Éireann.
The Water Network Management function is responsible for the strategic planning, prioritisation, and direction of Uisce Éireann’s Capital Works across the water supply networks. The function plays a key role in promoting collaboration and co-ordination of activities across the four asset functions as well as providing water network management expertise across Uisce Éireann. The function is accountable for ensuring the achievement of the outcomes and outputs associated with the delivery of capital investment in the water network in keys areas such as leakage, mains rehabilitation and water network quality.
Reporting to the Leakage Management System Lead, the Leakage Data Coordinator will support the maintenance of comprehensive leakage management and reporting systems to support the business. The role holder is responsible for leakage data analysis, maintenance of data models and the preparation of key reporting towards the setting and monitoring of leakage targets and performance measures at DMA, water supply zone, water resource zone and national levels. The Leakage Data Analyst will also support the production of regulatory reports to CER and internal and external stakeholders across the business, and will provide advice on leakage performance, leakage calculation methodologies and UÉ leakage management information systems to staff in operations and asset management.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of Leakage Management strategy
- Support the maintenance of the Network Management System (NMS) and any relationships with internal data stakeholders in Asset Information and Meter Data Management (MDM)
- Responsible for the completion of leakage data calculations and the maintenance of related mathematical and leakage calculation models
- Review and analyse data such as flows, pressures, customer demands and GIS data
- Ensure the integrity and quality of leakage data and the dissemination and maintenance of data through all stages
- Set common definitions for leakage data related to a particular area, communicating and promoting common data definitions and assisting in assessing new and changed requirements to individuals who may be impacted
- Liaise with other relevant internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of excellent customer service to Uisce Éireann customers
- Participate in ongoing leakage projects as required
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business.
- Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
- Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
- Other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience
- Min 1-year relevant Experience in a similar role in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Analytical skills and experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Advanced Excel, Power BI, SQL) desirable
- Prior experience in provision of reporting is required
- Strong Computer skills with a proficient working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to set up ongoing processes and procedures to collect and review information
- Proven ability to work on own initiative and with others to promote the success in the performance of a team
- Proven effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and remain focused
- Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey messages in a clear and concise manner
- Flexible with regard to working in a changing environment and the ability to adjust to new work structures, processes and requirements as necessary
- Proactively identifying new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skills on the job
