Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Learning and Development Manager located in Dundalk, Ireland.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Learning and Development Manager role involves developing and executing a comprehensive learning and development strategy that supports organizational growth, operational excellence, workforce capability, leadership development, and talent retention across our manufacturing operations. This role partners closely with leaders across the business to ensure employees have the skills, knowledge, and capabilities required to meet both current and future business needs.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Partner with the General Manager and operational leaders to develop and execute the Learning & Development strategy in Dundalk, ensuring workforce capability aligns with business objectives and future growth plans.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Training Officers, fostering a high-performance learning culture.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analyses (TNA) and create training plans to address workforce capability requirements.
  • Design and continuously improve technical, operational, leadership, and professional development programs.
  • Maintain competency frameworks, training matrices, and skills development plans across manufacturing and support functions.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, HR, Quality, and EHS teams to identify skills gaps and support operational excellence initiatives.
  • Partner with Electrical and Engineering Managers to manage and develop the apprenticeship programme, ensuring apprentices receive structured training, mentoring and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements and maintain audit-ready training records.
  • Standardize training materials, learning resources to support business priorities and workforce capability.
  • Measure training effectiveness using KPIs, competency assessments, and business performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage training budgets, external training providers, and strategic development partnerships.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Degree or professional qualification in Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Learning & Development experience, ideally within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement would be an advantage
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams across multiple locations.
  • Strong understanding of competency management, workforce development, and technical skills training.
  • Experience supporting apprenticeship, graduate, and early careers programs.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build partnerships across operational teams and external organizations.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, influencing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and project management capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland
