We are seeking applications for the following permanent role:
Learning Technologist
This role will assist the Open Training College and the Internal Staff Training function of St. Michael’s House in using technology to deliver excellence in education and training programmes both accredited and non-accredited.
ABOUT:
St. Michael’s House (SMH) provides services and support to people with disabilities, primarily with intellectual disabilities (ID) and/or Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and their families and supporters in the greater Dublin area. Currently, we provide a range of services and supports to over 2300 service users, including 1366 children with complex needs. We employ over 1800 staff across a range of roles and grades; direct support workers, social care workers and leaders, persons in charge, nurses, doctors, managers, clinical staff, administration, ICT, transport, education and training and maintenance. The Open Training College (OTC) is a third-level institution established by St. Michael’s House in 1992. The College delivers a range of accredited (QQI) and non-accredited courses (blended/online) for the disability, health-related and human service sector. (see www.opentrainingcollege.com). The Open Training College is a wholly owned section of St. Michael's House, Dublin www.smh.ie.
We would welcome hearing from you if you are a self-starter with a passion for excellence in the delivery of staff education and training and if you meet the following criteria:
Essential:
● A minimum of three years experience working in the areas of online education and training
● A primary degree (Level 7 or 8) in learning technology, instructional design, learning and development or related field
● Experience in LMS platforms, including Moodle
● Skills relevant to online educational content development (e.g., design, writing, editing)
● Understanding of QA processes in online learning
● Excellent organisational, team-working, management and interpersonal skills
● Vision in relation to the ongoing development of online learning for human services and third-level education
● Project management skills and experience
● Driving licence and access to a car for work
Highly Desirable:
● A Level 9 in a relevant area (e.g. learning technology, instructional design, learning and development or related field)
● Proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS for Moodle customization.
● Experience with editing tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Pro Studio.
● Knowledge of UI design and learner pathways to enhance user experience.

Salary Scale: The successful candidate will be paid in line with HSE consolidated pay Administration Grade VI scale (March 2025 rates) €56,757 - €69,341 (7-point scale) LSI pro rata.
Applicants without public sector experience will be placed on point 1 of the pay scale.
