Description
Creative Futures Academy (CFA) at NCAD invites applications from experienced design practitioners and educators to develop and deliver a series of immersive, design-led workshops as part of the Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate programme which will start in early Autumn.
About Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate
Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate is a pioneering all-island initiative, funded by Creative Ireland’s Climate Action Programme, and developed in partnership with the Institute of Directors Ireland and the Institute of Directors Northern Ireland. The programme responds to the urgent challenge of climate change by embedding design thinking and sustainability into decision-making processes across businesses, public bodies and civic organisations.
The programme brings together agents of change with the shared ambition to create actionable solutions for our planet. It is supported by directors of small and medium enterprises, the public sector, and multinational organisations across Ireland, each committed to enabling positive behavioural change for future generations.
Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate is working to embed five key recommendations that resulted from the first iteration of the programme within corporate organisations and public sector bodies:
As part of a phase 2 funded programme Creative Boardroom: Collaborate4Climate (CBC4C) will tour the exhibition designed during phase 1 using sustainable design principles to private and public sector organisations, North and South, across the Island of Ireland. The exhibition brings into focus the core challenges impacting Ireland’s climate responsibilities— food, transport, textiles and the built environment in an accessible and impactful way. The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of day-long design thinking workshops with ‘Strategising for Sustainable Futures’as a key focus. Workshops are intended to support businesses and bodies interested in future-scaping to adapt to doing new things in an evolving climate environment.
