Due to our continued expansion at City Colleges, we are seeking applications from interested candidates to join our – Technical Skills Academy, team for our upcoming Automation, Control & PLC course scheduled to commence this May. Applicants should possess a passion for their subject and an ability to instil and encourage the same in their students. Teaching experience is a preference for this position which is available on a part time basis.

Duration: 8 weeks

When: Tuesday evening 6pm - 8.30pm & Saturday 9am - 5pm (Labs)

Course Type: Blended course - Theory Live-Online In The Midweek Class and In Person, Class/Lab On Saturdays

Start date: Immediately

Course Module Learning Outcomes include:

• Understanding safety standards critical to automation and control systems.

• Applying Boolean Logic principles in PLC operations.

• Exploring the role of PLCs in modern automation and control processes.

• Learning best practices for PLC input and output wiring.

• Gaining knowledge of PLC programming languages and their applications.

• Working with proximity and contact sensors commonly used in automation.

• Developing skills to write and implement PLC programs based on given criteria.

• Troubleshooting and diagnosing faults in PLC-controlled systems.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

• Subject Matter / Industry Certified / Qualified

• Relevant and subject related industry experience

• Ability to Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

• Excellent Presentation, I.T. and Interpersonal skills

• Proactive approach to supporting and developing others with a demonstrate-able interest in learner employability, activation and progression
