We are currently seeking applications for a part-time Lecturer to deliver an online undergraduate-level module in Business Mathematics as part of a Level 8 Business degree. We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable educator who is passionate about mathematics and its application to business, and who is committed to inspiring and engaging students in their learning.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced academic, mathematics educator, or business professional to contribute to the development of students by delivering engaging, practical, and industry-relevant classes.
The role offers the opportunity to connect mathematical theory with real-world business applications, helping students develop the numerical confidence, problem-solving ability, and analytical competence required to succeed in today’s business environment.
Details:
Location: In person classes in Dublin 2
Contract: Part-time
Duration: 12-week semester
Teaching hours: 2.5 hours per week (daytime)
Day & Times: Thursdays 2.30pm - 5pm
Start Date: week of 7th September 2026
Module Topics include:
- Basic Numeracy
- Financial Mathematics
- Breakeven Analysis
- Functions & Introducations to calculus and optimisation
- Probability
Essential qualifications & Experience
Applicants should have:
- A postgraduate qualification in Mathematics, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or a related discipline (minimum requirement)
- Relevant academic, professional, or industry experience in mathematics, quantitative analysis, business, finance, economics, or a related field
- Excellent numerical, analytical, presentation, communication, IT, and interpersonal skills
- The ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and relate them to practical business applications
- The ability to support students with different levels of mathematical confidence and prior experience
- A proactive, student-centred approach, with a commitment to supporting learner engagement, progression, and employability
Desirable
- Previous lecturing, teaching or professional training experience
- Experience delivering Business Mathematics, Mathematics for Business, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or related modules in higher education or professional training environments
- Relevant professional qualifications or membership of a recognised professional body (CIMA)
- Experience incorporating case studies, practical exercises, business scenarios, spreadsheets, and real-world data into teaching
- Experience supporting students in developing numeracy, quantitative reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Experience using digital learning platforms, online teaching tools, spreadsheets, and contemporary teaching technologies
