We are currently seeking applications for a part-time Lecturer to deliver the IT Essentials module. We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable educator who is passionate about information technology and committed to inspiring and engaging students in their learning.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional or educator to contribute to the development of students by delivering practical, hands-on, and industry-relevant classes that build essential digital and technical skills.
Details:
Location: In-Person teaching on campus on Sth Great Georges Street, Dublin 2
Contract: Part-time
Duration: 12-week semester
Teaching hours: 5 hours per week (daytime)
Day & Times: Fridays, 11.50am - 5pm
Start Date: week of 7th September 2026
Module Topics include:
Introduction to the Evolution of ICT
Introduction to Information Systems
Microsoft Office ECDL Certification
ICT Security
Digital Multimedia
Essential qualifications & Experience
Applicants should have:
- A postgraduate qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline (minimum requirement)
- Relevant professional or industry experience in IT support, systems administration, networking, cybersecurity, or a related technical field
- Strong technical knowledge across computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and troubleshooting
- Excellent digital literacy and the ability to integrate current technologies into teaching
- Excellent communication, presentation, IT, and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, student-centred approach, with a commitment to supporting learner engagement, progression, and employability
Desirable
- Previous lecturing, teaching, or professional training experience
- Experience delivering IT Essentials, Computer Hardware, Networking, or related technology modules in higher education or professional training environments
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. Cisco CCNA, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or similar)
