Purpose and Function of Post
Ability to complete a pre-employment swim test
The pre-employment swim test will consist of – swimming 150m on front and back in 4 minutes, threading water in 2 minutes, NPLQ timed swims, CPR skills, dive to the deepest part of the pool and retrieve a submersible manikin, exit the pool without the use of steps.
The Council may retain a list of reserve candidates arising from this recruitment campaign, for any vacancies which may arise which are the same or similar and are of an equal grade of pay. This list will be valid for 12months. “Another similar vacancy” is defined as a post with a similar job description and person specification and on the same salary scale, which may be in a different department or duration to the vacancy initially advertised. Another similar vacancy does not include posts where the similarity relates solely to the salary scale.
In addition to the standard pre-employment checks, these positions will also be subject to receipt of a satisfactory Enhanced with the Barred List Access (NI) check, in accordance with Access NI Code of Practice.
- As part of a team contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective leisure service.
- Ensure highest standards of customer service within a safe and welcoming environment.
- Carry out duties as directed, including lifeguarding, cleaning, event/activity setup/takedowns and supervision and reception duties.
