Leisure Club Manager - Permanent, Full Time

4-Star Hotel Leisure Centre – Thurles, Co. Tipperary

A well-established and busy 4-star hotel leisure centre is seeking an experienced and driven Leisure Club Manager to lead and further develop our successful operation.

Our leisure centre serves both hotel residents and a strong local membership base and operates to the highest standards of safety, service and operational excellence. This is a senior leadership role within the hotel structure and reports directly to the General Manager.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a proven track record in leisure club management who can combine strong leadership, commercial awareness and uncompromising health & safety standards.

The Role

The Leisure Club Manager will be responsible for:

  • Full operational management of the leisure centre
  • Leadership and development of the leisure team
  • Maintaining exceptional health & safety compliance standards
  • Managing budgets, payroll and cost controls
  • Driving membership growth and retention
  • Overseeing pool plant operations and preventative maintenance
  • Ensuring excellent guest and member experience at all times
  • Preparing for and managing quality audits and inspections
  • Working closely with senior hotel management on strategic planning

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience managing a busy leisure club or hotel leisure facility
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Pool Plant Operations Certification
  • Current Lifeguard Qualification (RLSS NPLQ or equivalent)
  • Occupational First Aid certification
  • Strong understanding of risk assessments, compliance and audit standards
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Highly Desirable

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely
  • Certified Cardiac First Responder
  • Experience achieving or maintaining Ireland Active NQS accreditation
  • Experience managing swim lesson programmes and personal training revenue
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of KPIs
  • Experience working within a hotel environment
