A number of permanent vacancies currently exist within Mid and East Antrim Borough Council for the following post and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates:-
LGV Driver
37 hours per week
Scale 5 and in the range SCP 14-19 (Currently £28,624 - £31,067)
Location – 2 x Larne, 2 x Ballymena
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
- Drive any vehicles the postholder is trained in, including but not limited to those in connection with refuse collection, recycling and disposal vehicles, street cleansing services and other operational services vehicles within any given area of the Borough. Ensuring the vehicle is not overloaded and is safely manoeuvred on its daily route.
- Efficient completion of the daily/weekly specific work schedules in relation to allocated duties including defined collection routes where applicable.
- Take responsibility for the safety, supervision and transportation of the crew, ensuring crew members comply with operational procedures whilst carrying out their duties and dealing with queries from members of the public or referring to the postholder’s line manager as appropriate.
