We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated Local Service Manager to join our dynamic team in our Galway, Mayo & Roscommon community & Clubhouse services, where person-centred rehabilitation is at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role:

The Local Service Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting people with Acquired Brain Injury to live full, independent lives – whether at our residential services or out in the community. You will lead a dedicated team of Team Leaders, and Rehabilitation Assistants, fostering a collaborative and person-centred approach to daily support. Your leadership will help shape meaningful services that respond to each individual's goals and needs.

Along with leading the local team, you will be a key member in an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with specialists from across the ABI Ireland Organisation to deliver coordinated, person-centred rehabilitation. The contract available is:

Permanent, Part-Time, 19.5hours

The salary range is €57,856-€75,210 , pro-rated based on hours worked.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead and manage residential and community services, ensuring high quality, person-centred support for individuals with an acquired brain injury
  • Supervise and support staff teams, including Team Leaders and Rehabilitation Assistants, while overseeing recruitment, rotas, training, and performance management
  • Facilitate admissions, discharges, and daily independence for residents, working closely with families’, clinical teams and community partners
  • Build strong relationships with local agencies, voluntary groups and stakeholders to promote community inclusion and service awareness
  • Ensure Individual Rehabilitation plans (IRPS) are developed, implemented, and regularly reviewed with accurate documentation and reporting
  • Manage service budgets, payroll returns, petty cash, and purchasing, while supporting fundraising efforts at local and national levels
  • Respond to critical incidents, manage challenging behaviours, and ensure compliance with HIQA, CARF, and organisational policies
  • Represent ABI Ireland at forums, participate in working groups, and support the on-call service – while being ready to drive vehicles as needed

Who We're Looking For:

We’re looking for a compassionate and confident leader who’s passionate about making a real difference in the lives of people with an acquired brain injury. You will bring a strong background in human services, along with the ability to guide and support a dedicated team in delivering high-quality, person-centred care. You will be someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, communicates with clarity and empathy, and builds strong relationships with families, clinical colleagues and community partners.

Must Haves:

  • A relevant third-level qualification in Health or Social Care,
  • At least 4-years post-graduate experience in a health or social care setting, including residential or community rehabilitation,
  • Minimum 3-years’ experience leading and managing staff teams, with a focus on performance manager and development.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal, written, report writing, and presentation – with fluency in English.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to priorities and meet service goals.
  • Confident decision-maker with sound judgement, attention to details, and a hands-on approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with solid IT and budgeting skills.
  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to undertake management/leadership training if not already completed.

Great to Have:

  • Previous experience working with individuals affected by Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
  • Background in delivering person-centred neuro-rehabilitation services across interdisciplinary teams
  • Experience managing a 24/7 residential or community-based care service
  • Familiarity with Ireland’s disability care systems and available support services
