Logistics Support Technician - Job Ref N203/11/2025
There are currently 3 permanent posts, 1 vacancy based at NIFRS, Eastern Area Headquarters, 6 Bankmore Street, Belfast, BT7 1AQ and 2 vacancies at NIFRS, Service Support Centre, 99 Boucher Crescent, Belfast BT12 6HU. This recruitment and selection process will also be used to fill future vacancies across NIFRS locations, a reserve list will be created for 12 months should any additional permanent or fixed term vacancies arise (offers of posts will be made in merit order).
The Logistic Support Technician will support service delivery of Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue (NIFRS) Fleet Engineering & Supplies and Operational Area Command tasks including issue and receipt of the SPATE and spare operational appliances, driving all variants of NIFRS specialist vehicle fleet, testing, inspection, decontamination and certification of operational equipment. Maintenance, transfer and delivery of equipment, supplies and personnel to operational incidents and maintenance duties.
They will participate in the regional duty standby Rota to facilitate an effective logistical support network to ensure operational resilience is maintained out of hours to support service delivery activities throughout the region and cross border in support of NIFRS operational incidents.
Hours of work
Currently 36¼ hours.
Mon to Fri 9.00am to 5.00pm based at Eastern Area Headquarters, 6 Bankmore Street, Belfast
Mon to Fri 8.00am to 4.00pm NIFRS, Service Support Centre, 99 Boucher Crescent, Belfast
A Flexible Working Hours Scheme is in operation.
There are currently three permanent vacancies to be filled, one based at based at Eastern Area HQ, 6 Bankmore Street, Belfast, BT7 1AQ and 2 at Service Support Centre, 99 Boucher Crescent, Belfast BT12 6HU
