About the Role:

Reporting to the Mainframe security Manager, the successful candidate will be involved in securing and assurance of AIB’s Mainframe and HP Nonstop technology through Access and Authentication software, Network security and encryption. The role is part of a wider team who manage and maintain AIB’s Z server, Storage and HP Nonstop environments, and will also involve keeping abreast of latest industry security standards and software tools.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administer ruleset around authentication and access controls.
  • Administer SSL certificates, key management, and Mainframe related encryption.
  • Automation of Security assurance and attestation though the use of Mainframe Security tools and scripting. 
  • Willingness to provide out of hours support on the team Rota. 

You will need to show us that you can/have:

  • Troubleshooting: Gathers pertinent information about a problem by recognising underlying issues, analysing data and patterns, and identifying the root cause.
  • Operational Excellence: Identifies improvements that impact the quality of products, services and processes.
  • Technical Leadership: Stays abreast of developments in domain area of expertise, providing thought leadership and insights. 
  • Capacity Planning

What you will bring:

  • At least 7 years’ experience as a systems administrator and/or Mainframe systems experience.
  • Some Mainframe experience desirable (RACF,TSO, ISPF, SDSF, JCL) but not essential. 
  • Understanding of Access Controls, Encryption, TLS protocols, Ciphers would be an advantage but not essential. 
  • We are looking for someone who is highly motivated with the ability to work on own initiative.
  • You are a team player displaying ability to work with others within and outside the team. Someone with a strong interest in Technology with the ability to pick up new skills quickly.
