Location: Shannon, Co. Clare
Hours: Monday–Friday
Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract initially, with a view to permanent
Reporting to: Facilities & Maintenance Manager
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a Manufacturing Client for a Maintenance Technician to join their maintenance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded and reliable individual to join an established organisation on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with a genuine view to a permanent position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring factory equipment is maintained to the best possible standards, with a focus on safety, scheduled and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out machine maintenance in accordance with established maintenance schedules.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks in a timely manner and to the required standards.
- Assist with the installation and relocation of machinery and equipment when required.
- Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance across all areas of the company.
- Carry out maintenance of dryers and compressors.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requirements arising from machine breakdowns.
- Identify, order through the Purchasing Department and fit required spare parts.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of critical machine and business spare parts.
- Review, follow and complete work in accordance with established work instructions and SOPs.
- Ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely and to the required standards.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Automation, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 4 + years experience with maintenance documentation and maintenance systems within a manufacturing environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
