Management Accountant

We currently have a vacancy for a Management Accountant to join our team in our Head Office in Dublin 8. The successful candidate will report to the Financial Controller and be a key member of the finance team in a growing organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced person to make a significant contribution to the achievement of ALONE’s vision and strategic goals. The successful candidate will assist in the financial management, financial administration and financial operation of organisation. 

Responsibilities 

  • Monthly Management Accounts preparation with related financial and cashflow reports within deadline each month. 
  • Departmental cost analysis and variance analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction and provide insights of performance to budget. 
  • Regulatory reporting to funding agencies and statutory bodies. 
  • Preparation of Revenue returns. 
  • Support the Financial Controller and liaise with the external auditors in the preparation of the annual audited accounts in line with FRS 102, Charities SORP including the Statement of Financial Activities, noting Restricted, Designated and Unrestricted purposes. 
  • Liaising with and collaborating with other departments as required in the budgeting and forecasting process. 
  • Undertake other finance and adhoc duties, supporting projects and initiatives by providing financial analysis and insights.
  • Compliance with all financial governance requirements and internal policies. 

Essential skills & experience 

  • Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA Accountant
  • Minimum 4 years’ relevant management accountant experience
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail 
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel 
  • Experience of Xero preferable
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to use own initiative 
  • Self-motivated person who is committed to ALONE’s mission is essential 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders both internally & externally 
  • A collaborative team player who fosters strong internal and external relationships. 
  • Problem-solver, using innovation to improve service delivery and support independent older person and the people we serve. 
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to prioritise workload and meet KPIs.
