Salary scale ‘Workshop Manager’ as per The Department of Health & Children Consolidated Scales

Day Services at Horizons support people in living their lives guided by the principles that are: ‘Person-Centeredness’, ‘Community Inclusion’, ‘Active Citizenship’, ‘High Quality Services and Supports’. All of which are in line with Interim Standards for New Directions. This underpins the supports provided which enables an individual to choose to learn, participate and be an active citizen with a socially valued role.

The intention is to encourage and support a person to meaningfully engage and develop their independence. Furthermore, enable an individual to commit to being active in their own decision making and to reach their full potential in living the life of their wishes.

Essential skills and requirements for the position:

  • At least 5 years relevant experience in the area of health/social care
  • A relevant third level qualification
  • Hold high expectations for individuals we support to live a meaningful life within their chosen community in line with the UNCRPD and the ADMA
  • Demonstrate an ability to take a human rights-based approach in service provision
  • A comprehensive knowledge of New Directions standards
  • A full driving licence
  • Computer literate with commitment to develop further relevant to the role.
  • Be person centred in approach, promoting and supporting a culture of Person Centredness
  • Have an awareness of relevant policies to ensure an appropriate standard of service delivery
  • Have effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with people we support, their parents/families and any other stakeholders
  • Possess initiative & good organisational skills
  • Be flexible and open to change
  • Excellent team working skills and the ability lead and inspire others
