Manager, Marketing Communications
JOB PURPOSE The successful candidate will have specific responsibility for developing world class marketing communications that will encourage Republic of Ireland (ROI), and Northern Ireland (NI) consumers take increased short breaks in the Republic. They will play a critical role in supporting and promoting key strategic initiatives that contributes to a thriving tourism industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong marketing background and will lead and guide their team to champion creativity and an insight led mindset in developing marketing communications for the tourism industry. They will also have the ability to think strategically, work collaboratively across the Fáilte Ireland matrix and confidently present and work with the leadership team as well as working with some key external stakeholders and agencies.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and building our brands Wild Atlantic Way (WAW), Ireland’s Ancient East (IAE), Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands (IHH) and Dublin. There will be a blended work model, which includes remote working and flexible working arrangements, with the office location based in Dublin.
Note: Our partner agency, Tourism Ireland, has the responsibility of marketing the Island of Ireland to overseas holidaymakers. We work very closely in partnership with them as they develop global campaigns. JOB DESCRIPTION PRIMARY OBJECTIVES / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY DELIVERABLES Drive the development and implementation of a culture that recognises and encourages creativity with impact, via collaboration, throughout the organisation. • With the Head of Marketing, ensure an effective brand(s) communication strategy and implementation programme, utilising all channels to build awareness, increase relevancy and ultimately deliver increased volume and revenue from all target visitor segments. • Develop and execute an effective communication strategy for priority initiatives, utilising various channels to build awareness and drive uptake of various business supports. • Targeting domestic & NI consumers, create and deliver excellent through-the-line marketing communications through a combination of specific campaigns and always-on messaging. • Targeting industry partners in the accommodation, attractions and activities sectors, create and deliver excellent throughthe-line marketing communications that impacts and motivates target audiences to avail of Failte Ireland marketing initiatives and supports that are relevant to them and provide them with the tools to leverage those supports to drive revenue for their own business. • Deliver “famous execution”, with richness and depth, which impacts target audiences. • Set clear goals and KPIs that are aligned with Fáilte Ireland corporate objectives and establish robust, measurable processes to review performance against these objectives and appropriate international benchmarks. • Develop and manage key external stakeholder relationships including agency partners, Tourism Ireland, local Tourism organisations and other stakeholders.

PERSON SPECIFICATION ESSENTIAL CRITERIA The successful candidate will have proven experience of brilliant execution of campaigns demonstrating how an idea was brought to life across multiple consumer touch points, including tv and digital/social channels, over time. They will hold a record of effective media planning across traditional and digital channels, demonstrating excellent relationship management of agencies and a range of external partners. They will have project managed campaigns including approvals and sign off from relevant departments. They will demonstrate the ability to help nurture great talent to reach their full potential and have experience of collaborating and working crossfunctionally with other teams and stakeholders. They will also demonstrate the ability to report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns using pre-determined KPIs and have creative ambition to deliver world class, global award-winning work. In order to be eligible to apply for this role you must have / demonstrate in your application form thefollowing: • A minimum of five years’ marketing experience, with three years’ experience in a senior marketing communications role at a large consumer brand driven organisation. • Direct experience in the development of a marketing strategy and execution of a large-scale communications campaign that included both traditional and digital media. • Have personally managed sizeable communications budgets of over €1m. • Clear leadership skills and experience of managing a team including collaborating and working cross functionally with other teams and stakeholders. • Demonstrate the ability to help nurture great talent to reach their full potential. • Demonstrate excellent relationship management of agencies and a range of external partners. • Project management of campaigns including approvals and sign off from relevant departments. • Experience of brand development and brandmanagement.
QUALIFICATIONS/MANDATORY TRAINING A professional qualification (minimum Level 6 under the QQI Framework) in Marketing, Business or a related discipline is essential.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA • Knowledge of Fáilte Ireland brands and the broader Irish tourism product offering. • Experience in delivering presentations.
