Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manufacturing Engineer I based within the Packaging operations team
  • Supports a positive & proactive safety culture within Packaging, identifying & reporting Hazard Observations. Implementing solutions to eliminate safety risks.
  • Supports a “quality first” behaviors & culture within Packaging, ensuring the highest standard of compliance to GMP/GDP
  • Supports the introduction of new technology into Packaging (Blister packaging, small scale Manufacturing).
  • Supports the development of a ‘visual factory’ for the packaging department
  • Support the introduction of new processes & systems into Packaging (embedding OEE into Daily operations, automating the daily operational meetings & leader standard of works)
  • Support the measurement of line performance through OEE & the implementation of solutions to improve line efficiency
  • Support technical problem solving & trouble shooting on Packaging equipment, identifying the root cause & actions to eliminate reoccurrence of the issue
  • Support the training & development of team members.
  • Reports to Senior Packaging Manager on a regular basis on line performance and reports any issues that need to be resolved.
  • Support operational excellence within packaging, identifying & completing process improvements
  • Support the implementation of Evi-view to link Opex ideas (GDI’s) through to prioritisation of small projects
  • Support advocate groups in packaging within the 5S and Opex space
  • Attend departmental & morning performance meetings as required
  • Prepares required engineering and Packaging documentation.
  • With guidance, resolves semi-routine manufacturing engineering issues.
  • Works on assigned projects through completion with limited direct supervision.
  • With guidance may participate on cross-functional project teams.
  • Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
  • Relevant experience.
  • Bachelor of Engineering (level 8)
  • Prior experience in a cGMP related industry is required & packaging experience is desirable
  • Demonstrates knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety regulations.
  • Possesses good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Works on problems of a routine to basic scope, where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates ability to follow direction and work under minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates capability in training others on Packaging role
