What does a Marketing and Administration Trainee do?
Trainees will work closely with Northern Ireland Screen’s marketing team to support the delivery of communications, campaigns and operational projects. Key activities include:
• Assisting with daily media monitoring and compiling press clippings
• Managing an information mailbox and responding to general enquiries
• Supporting newsletters, social media posts, and website updates
• Helping to organise digital content libraries and assist with new website rollouts
• Providing day-to-day administrative support, including maintaining databases, coordinating events, and assisting procurement processes

Trainees will receive regular support from a line manager and CINE staff, ensuring a well-supported learning experience.
How does the Marketing and Administration role work?
• Based in Belfast with hybrid working options
• May occasionally involve attendance at events or external locations
By the end of the programme, a trainee will:
• Understand marketing, communications, and administrative processes in the creative industries
• Gain experience using professional digital tools and platforms
• Build professional networks and transferable skills
• Develop awareness of operational, cultural, and business aspects of a creative agency
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Marketing and Communications Support
• Issue daily media clippings and monitor relevant press coverage
• Manage an information mailbox, responding to and directing enquiries appropriately
• Support the creation of content for newsletters, social media, and website updates
• Assist in the management and organisation of the stills library and other digital content libraries
• Collate and report on social media analytics and engagement metrics
• Support the development and rollout of a new website, including uploading content and coordinating updates
Administrative and Project Support
• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the team
• Maintain and update internal databases and contact lists
• Support procurement processes, including collating supplier quotes and financial documentation
• Assist with coordination and delivery of events, workshops, and stakeholder engagements
• Contribute to the successful rollout of new communications materials and website updates
Person Specification
We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about marketing, communications, and administration within the creative industries and who are motivated to learn and grow in a professional environment. This role is ideal for candidates with transferable skills, relevant personal projects, volunteering experience, or prior work experience.
Essential Criteria (must be clearly demonstrated in your application):
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Confident using digital tools, Microsoft Office, and databases
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
• Motivation to learn about marketing, communications, and administrative processes in a creative organisation
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Must be aged 18+ and eligible to work in the UK
Desirable Criteria (optional, but may strengthen your application):
• Experience in an administrative, marketing, or communications setting, including volunteer or project work
• Exposure to social media management, content creation, or website updates
• Experience supporting events, workshops, or stakeholder engagement activities
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) or email marketing software (e.g., WordPress, Mailchimp)
