Fáilte Ireland invites applications for the position of Officer, Marketing Communications. The role will report to the Marketing Communications Manager.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will have specific responsibility for developing world class marketing communications that will encourage Republic of Ireland (ROI) and Northern Ireland (NI) consumers to take increased short breaks in the Republic of Ireland.

Note: Our partner agency, Tourism Ireland, has the responsibility of marketing the Island of Ireland to overseas holidaymakers. We work very closely in partnership with them as they develop global campaigns.

The candidate will have a strong marketing background and champion creativity and a consumer-first, insight led mindset in developing fully integrated marketing communications, from TV advertising through to media partnerships and digital.

At Fáilte Ireland we are brand builders. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and building our brands Wild Atlantic Way (WAW), Ireland’s Ancient East (IAE), Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands (IHH) and Dublin.

Job Description 

Primary Objectives/Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion a culture that recognises and encourages creativity with impact, via collaboration, throughout the organisation.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an effective brand(s) communication strategy and implementation programme, utilising all channels to build awareness, increase intent and ultimately deliver increased volume and revenue from all target visitor segments in ROI & NI.

  • Project manage the delivery of effective domestic through-the-line marketing communications, including the development & implementation of media planning, development and production of creative assets, and evaluation and execution of large-scale media partnerships.

  • Targeting industry partners in the accommodation, attractions and activities sector, co-ordinate and manage the delivery of excellent through-the-line communications that impacts and motivates target audiences to avail of Fáilte Ireland marketing initiatives and supports that are relevant to them and provide them with the tools to leverage those supports to drive revenue for their own business.

  • Deliver against goals and KPIs that are aligned with Fáilte Ireland's corporate objectives.

  • Working closely with the wider marketing and digital team to drive efficiencies and maximise content distribution to deliver maximum impact across Paid, Owned and Earned channels.

  • Brief agency partners and third parties and develop and nurture strong working relationships with these key partners.

  • Coordinate compilation and dissemination of comprehensive post campaign analysis, reporting on data, learnings, insights and ROI analysis to key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead regular meetings with agencies, specifically the Media and Creative agencies, and key stakeholders.

  • Coordinate and prepare content/presentations for brands, partners and/or internal meetings as required.

  • Manage significant campaigns budgets diligently in line with public sector policies and procedures.

  • Research evidence-based marketing principles and latest trends.

  • Manage all staff reporting to the position to effectively train, evaluate, motivate, delegate, and monitor their activities.

  • Conduct Performance Reviews in line with Fáilte Ireland policy.

  • Write requests for tenders and coordinate the procurement process in line with Fáilte Ireland policy.

  • Responsible for administration and financial management tasks in line with Fáilte Ireland policy.

  • Carry out all other duties as required and participate as a full member of the Marketing Team by supporting different work projects, as required, from time to time.

​The flexibility to travel domestically and work unsociable hours may be required.

Person Specification 

Essential Criteria 

In order to be eligible to apply for this role you must have / demonstrate in your application form the following:

  • Three years’ experience in a marketing communications role preferably at a large consumer brand driven organisation (or a comparable role within a marketing agency or similar company).

  • Proven ability to manage the execution of large-scale consumer communications campaign that included both traditional (eg. tv, radio and out of home) and digital media.

  • Experience of successfully managing large budgets.

  • Experience in compiling campaign effectiveness reports for stakeholders.

  • Proven experience in relationship management of agencies and a range of external partners.

Qualifications/Mandatory Training

  • A Professional Qualification (minimum Level 6 under the QQI Framework) in a related discipline is essential.

Desirable Criteria

  • Knowledge of Fáilte Ireland brands and the broader Irish tourism product offering

  • Experience in data analytics.

  • Experience working with marketing technology.

  • A Professional Qualification (Level 8 under the QQI Framework) in a related discipline

  • Proficiency in the Irish Language (written and spoken).

  • Full and Clean Driving Licence.

A panel may be created from which future vacancies may be filled.

Selection Process 

Shortlisting will be based on applications and the selection process may involve two competency based interviews. A panel of successful candidates may be formed following the selection process.Salary

*This role will be filled in line with Public Pay Policy at Point 1 of the relevant Salary Scale unless the successful candidate is appointed from an existing public sector role
