Marketing Executive
Role Introduction:
Established in 1992, Applegreen is a leading convenience roadside retailer in the Republic of Ireland, the UK and the US in both large-scale Motorway Service Areas and Travel Plazas, as well as smaller petrol stations. The business has grown to over €3BN in annual revenue, operating 600 Motorway Service Plazas and forecourt sites internationally and employing over 17,000 people.
Applegreen is in a rapid growth phase and is seeking to onboard a Marketing Executive for our M&S Brand who will support onsite marketing communications of the customer journey at our Applegreen M&S sites. This role will form part of the M&S team and reports to the Head of M&S in Applegreen. It is an exciting opportunity in a hardworking, ambitious team where the candidate can excel and progress their career.
The main responsibilities of the role will be overseeing the print, delivery & execution of M&S marketing materials to Applegreen sites for M&S cycles and various campaigns, store opening planning, managing the marketing budget and working with the M&S team for digital and on-site activations throughout the year.
Another large part of this role is also supporting and building relationships with regional & site management across the business. The ideal candidate will have had previous experience working in retail / FMCG marketing and has experience in the above.
The successful candidate will be a confident people person who can fit into Applegreen seamlessly and adopt a hands-on approach to their role.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Applegreen X M&S Food partnership expands, the responsibilities will evolve and change over time. The core responsibilities will centre around the following areas:
- Act as brand guardian for Applegreen X M&S Food locations, ensuring the brand is being presented correctly in our stores and on the forecourt. This includes outlining a plan for sites needing branding upgrades or seasonal changes and undertaking site visits to ensure standards are being met at all times.
- You will be the key link with sites, communicating the Applegreen X M&S Food marketing updates and managing site marketing requests.
- Manage customer communications for site closures and openings.
- Co-ordinate with M&S on new campaigns throughout the year particularly for Seasonal events.
- Input and Implement the M&S Food marketing launch plans and campaigns working closely with the wider Applegreen marketing team and M&S Food team.
- Liaise with external vendors on a daily and or weekly basis, to ensure all information for campaigns and upcoming external announcements.
- You will be take ownership of managing print allocations, briefing the Applegreen Graphic Designer and manage a new site activation schedule.
- Work with our internal Digital department to manage and capture social media content for Applegreen X M&S food partnership.
- Share market research and competitor analysis to support planning for new openings and launch plans.
- Management of all signage & point of sale (POS) which is displayed on site. This requires a close working relationship with the M&S Food Team to activate all offers effectively along with reacting to Adhoc requests for signage or price changes.
The Candidate should have the following:
Qualifications, experience & skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Minimum 1 years post qualification experience,
- High proficiency in all Microsoft Office software also essential (Excel, PPT)
- A marketing related Qualification preferred
- Experience working within FMCG or Retail marketing team an advantage
- You must have a full, clean driving license and having your own car is an advantage
