Essential Qualifications and Skills Minimum.

Candidates must:

• Hold a degree (level 7/8) in in Business/Marketing/Management/Communications or related discipline area.

• Have a minimum two-year proven track record of experience and achievement in the field of Education/Marketing, with experience in external engagement related activities.

• Access to own transport & a full clean driving licence.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Knowledge of consortia led apprenticeships in Ireland will be an advantage.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills

• Have highly developed marketing, organisational, project management, IT and digital marketing skills.

• Have a strong aptitude for analysis and presentation of information and report writing.

• Have a strong aptitude for public relations, event management and marketing.

• Have experience with in-person, online and virtual recruitment activities.

• Have an ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion.

• A postgraduate and/or professional qualification will be an advantage.

• Relevant experience in a higher or further education setting will be an advantage.

Overview of the Role

ATU currently offers a suite of apprenticeship programmes – craft, trade and new apprenticeships across the university campuses. As ATU’s apprenticeship programme provision continues to grow, the university is seeking to recruit a Marketing Support Officer to support apprenticeship engagement activities across ATU and enhance recruitment in this area. The Marketing Support Officer also supports the promotion of the Civil Engineering Apprenticeship (Consortium) at ATU whilst supporting the development of other apprenticeship programme offerings at ATU.

Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Support the implementation of the recruitment and marketing plan for the promotion of the Civil Engineering Apprenticeship (Consortium)

• Promoting ATU’s Apprenticeship provision with schools, further and higher education partners on behalf of ATU.

• Responsible for the planning, arrangement and delivery of presentations to schools, further education colleges and other institutes on behalf of ATU.

• Work closely with ATU’s Schools Engagement team to develop collaborative recruitment and marketing related activities.

• Maintain and develop close relationships with apprentice employers and Career Guidance Counsellors in the Republic of Ireland.

• Undertake a range of activities, online and on-site in various partner locations, to promote to a variety of audiences including secondary school students, mature students, school guidance counsellors, teachers and principals, parents and the media.

• Marketing and promotion of ATU’s apprenticeship programmes to key market segments at exhibitions and fairs across Ireland.

• Work with the Marketing Manager in ATU to develop the marketing strategy for the apprenticeship provision.

• Monitoring and feeding back on developments in the marketplace and competitor activities.

• Due to the nature of the work flexibility of working hours is required (some weekends and evenings).

• Any additional administrative and marketing tasks as delegated by the ATU Marketing Manager.

Salary Grade V Salary Scale (€52,763 – €63,107)

* Candidates external to the sector may be appointed up to the 3rd Point (€55,948) of the Salary Scale in accordance with University Policy

Hours of Work

35 hours per week
