Master/CEO

Coombe Hospital8, Dublin

Established in 1826, The Coombe Hospital is a tertiary referral voluntary teaching hospital with national, regional and local responsibilities for ensuring the optimal health of mothers, women and newborns. The Hospital is one of the leading providers of healthcare for women and newborns in the Republic of Ireland and, indeed, among the foremost in Europe. It is recognised for its tertiary services, including maternal and fetal medicine, neonatology, gynaecology and peri-operative medicine, caring for approximately 8,000 women annually, with up to 1,000 neonatal admissions and almost 6,000 gynaecological procedures each year. The Hospital hosts three University Departments; Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatology, together with a Hub Centre for Continuing Midwifery Education in the Greater Dublin Area.

The year 2026 marks the final year of the Hospital’s current Strategic Plan, 2022–2026. The Strategy sets the direction of the Hospital and is underpinned by a commitment to its purpose: providing specialist care for women and newborns, placing their needs at the heart of everything we do.

Our core values are empathy for all, teamwork, dignity and respect, people at the heart of everything we do and always striving to be at our best.

Our vision is to be a nationally and internationally recognised leader in healthcare for women, newborns and their families.
