Maternal Medicine Fellow
Applications are invited for a one year fulltime maternal medicine fellowship commencing July 2027. Duties will include running the maternal medicine service along with our midwifery, obstetric, anaesthetic and physician consultant colleagues; organising the weekly maternal medicine MDT meeting; reviewing antenatal and postnatal patients on the wards and attendance at our maternal medicine and preterm clinics.
Professional Qualifications, Experience etc.
The successful candidate must hold appropriate Irish Medical Council registration on the General Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland.
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge & Understanding:
· The successful candidate should ideally have spent two years in fulltime Obstetrics & Gynaecology and have MRCPI as a minimum.
· Would require the general confidence and support of consultant colleagues and management.
· Must demonstrate strong leadership skills
· Computer literacy in work processing, presentation and maintenance of databases would be advantageous, in addition to having a genuine interest in research.
· Must demonstrate the ability to liaise with colleagues on a range of issues and work effectively within a team
· Has a deep knowledge and understanding of the services provided by the NMH
· Is knowledgeable of current professional quality and audit issues/accreditation process.
· Must demonstrate the ability to plan and organise effectively.
· Must demonstrate strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships.
· Must show resilience and composure.
· Must demonstrate an openness to change.
· Must demonstrate integrity and ethical stance.
