AES Recycling Ltd is seeking a Mechanic to join our Depot team on a permanent basis. This is a mobile role with no fixed base; however, the position will have primary responsibility for the maintenance of the Silliot Hill depot which is based in Kilcullen, Co.Kildare. The successful candidate will perform inspections, planned maintenance, and repairs on trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other depot vehicles and equipment. The successful candidate must be flexible, willing to cover on-call duties, and respond efficiently to urgent breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance to a high standard.
  • Conduct examinations of vehicles and respond to daily checks as reported by drivers, to identify and repair non-routine defects, while working to high standards in accordance with the brands technical standards.
  • Attend breakdowns on-site or locally, troubleshooting and resolving faults quickly.
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
  • Keep the workshop and depot safe, clean, and organised.
  • Proactively report and address safety risks.
  • Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation in line with company, RSA and other governing bodies guidelines.
  • Participate in the company’s Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Work closely with the transport team, informing them of progress, to ensure vehicles are available to service planned collections for the end customer.
  • Offer technical advice and support to other technicians and apprentices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4-year experience working in a similar environment/industry.
  • National Craft Certificate in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics (SOLAS) or Advanced Craft Certificate (FETAC Level 6), or equivalent.
  • Full Irish Category B driving license (essential).
  • Category C or CE license is desirable.
  • Flexible attitude with willingness to work on-call and cover urgent maintenance as needed.
  • Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
  • Good written and verbal English essential.
