The Lunch Bag is Ireland’s leading provider of school meals, delivering nutritious food to over 100,000 children every day. Behind the scenes, our fleet plays a critical role in ensuring meals arrive safely, on time, and to the highest standard - and we’re now looking to grow our in-house workshop team.

The Role

As Workshop Technician, you will support the Garage / Mechanic Manager in maintaining our van fleet to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and compliance. This is a hands-on role within a busy workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical & Technical

• Carry out servicing, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on the company van fleet

• Ensure vehicles are maintained in line with manufacturer, legal, and company requirements

• Complete preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns and downtime

• Identify defects and take appropriate corrective action

Workshop Support

• Follow workshop procedures and safe working practices at all times

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment

• Use tools and equipment correctly and report any defects

Compliance & Records

• Accurately complete maintenance and job records

• Comply with Health & Safety, RSA, and environmental procedures

Teamwork & Development

• Work under the direction of the Garage / Mechanic Manager

• Participate in training and ongoing skills development

• Support efficient and professional workshop operations

About You

• Previous mechanical experience in a workshop or fleet environment

• Relevant motor vehicle qualification

• Ability to follow procedures and work to deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and a safety-focused mindset

• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team

• Full European driving licence (essential)
